Our expertise is delivered by a diverse team of engineers, technical specialists, project managers, analysts and consultants based in Amersfoort, the Netherlands and is supported by the expertise of the wider Green Cat Renewables group.

Gavin is the founder of Green Cat Renewables, which was established in Scotland in 2005. Gavin remains the primary owner and majority shareholder of the organisations within the Green Cat group. Gavin has a background in electrical engineering with a PhD in wind turbine generator design, his broad base of expertise includes project feasibility assessment and optimisation, construction management, commercial risk assessment, environmental assessment, resource assessment, grid connection negotiation and system design. As Director of Green Cat, Gavin has overseen the delivery of many GW’s of renewable generation.
Gavin Catto
Director

In his role as Technical Director, Cameron is responsible for Green Cat’s wind, solar and hydro Due Diligence work for a variety of funders and investors, and provides technical oversight across all our Environmental Assessment areas and Asset Management functions. He has an MSc in Renewable Energy Systems Technology and 20 years of experience in the renewables industry. Cameron has a thorough and in-depth understanding of the technical, environmental and social issues associated with commercial renewable energy development, having managed more than 30 wind energy projects through the Scottish planning system and provided technical support for over 300 wind, solar and hydro projects at all stages of project development, from initial feasibility to post construction encompassing consenting, resource assessment, due diligence and operational asset management.
Cameron Sutherland
Technical Director

Stylianos is responsible for the company’s overall operations, leading strategic planning and execution across the region. He holds a MSc in Electrical Engineering and a MSc in Sustainable Energy Technology and has 12 years of experience in the renewables industry. Stylianos has worked on projects in various European markets, managing and executing from first contact to realisation with diligence, resolve, and commercial acumen.
Stylianos Marinakis
General Manager

Henk-Jan has more than 25 years of experience in wind and renewable energy engineering. His expertise entails wind resource assessment, wind turbine performance, and aero-elastic simulations of wind turbines for structural design and load analysis. He has experience in leading wind turbine field test campaigns and type certification. Topical examples of his work include the energy modelling of hybrid power systems of various set-ups and wind turbine SCADA data analysis for performance assessment and extended lifetime calculations. Before Henk-Jan joined GCRE in 2025, he worked at General Electric in Germany, now GE Vernova, and at EWT in the Netherlands. He started his career at the Energy Research Institute ECN-TNO in the Netherlands, after receiving his MSc in Aerospace Engineering from Delft University of Technology.
Henk-Jan Kooijman
Principal Systems Engineer

Jacob is an experienced engineer with over 15 years of experience in the wind turbine industry. He has a MSc in Mechanical Engineering. He has experience in designing and detailing complex mechanical structures both in steel and composite materials. This includes wind turbine blades up to 74m, steel tubular towers up to 84m, 1MW direct drive generator, and various other components. This work includes full structural calculations using relevant FEM software, certified reports, specification documents, as well as 3D and 2D production drawings. Jacob has experience with ANSYS, SolidWorks, Creo Parametric, Matlab, and Python software.
Jacob Roosma
Senior Structural Engineer

Stefan is a senior engineer at Green Cat Renewables Europe. Stefan holds a MSc degree in Aerospace Engineering and a MSc degree in Business Management. He has 15 years of experience in the wind energy industry, as a loads and control engineer.
He has been involved in the certification of various wind turbine types, has expert knowledge on wind turbine controller design, and developed tools for automating the commissioning of wind turbine installations. He has a thorough understanding of dynamic systems, modelling, controller design, and data analysis.
Stefan de Groot
Senior Systems Optimisation and Control Engineer

Rahul is a Systems Optimisation & Control Engineer at GCRE. He holds an MSc in Control and Automation Engineering and a BSc in Instrumentation & Control Engineering and has five years of experience in the wind energy industry. He previously worked at EWT as a Loads & Control Engineer, where he was involved in running dynamic simulations, developing and implementing controller features, supporting commissioning activities, and building tools for power-curve analysis. His software skills include C, MATLAB, and Python, and he has a good understanding of modelling dynamical systems, various control methods, tuning principles, and data analysis.
Rahul Sylvester Suresh
Systems Optimisation & Control Engineer

Ersi is a Senior Electrical Engineer specialising in power systems and renewable energy integration. He holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering and has more than 8 years of experience working on the analysis, design, and optimization of electrical systems for large-scale energy projects. His work focuses on grid integration, power system performance, and the evaluation of technical solutions for modern power generation assets. Ersi has experience working with industry-standard engineering tools such as PSCAD, PSS®E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP, MATLAB/Simulink, and Python to model, simulate, and assess electrical system behaviour and support the development of reliable and efficient energy solutions.

Senior Electrical Engineer

Timo is a graduate mechanical engineer who worked at EWT before moving to GCRE. He has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and a MSc in Material Science and Engineering. He has experience in the mechanical design of wind turbines, structural analysis and material choice. Timo has designed parts for the EWT turbine, such as the tower, and cable guide. He has also done structural analysis of building foundations and pipe bridges and wind resource assessment, as well as experience with material choice and systems engineering.
Timo Nieuwerf
Graduate Mechanical Engineer

Konstantinos is a graduate electrical engineer at GCRE. He holds a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and an MSc in Sustainable Energy Technology, with a focus on power grids, renewable energy integration, and power electronics. He supports GCRE projects across Europe, the UK, and Canada by designing and developing electrical power networks, with an emphasis on integrating switchgear, medium-voltage transformers, and power converters for AC and DC electrical systems. Konstantinos also has experience in systems engineering and control systems.
Konstantinos Zagkos
Graduate Electrical Engineer

Jack is a graduate consultant who joined Green Cat Renewables Europe in June 2025. He has an MA in international Business and has previous experience in the Green Cat group, working with Green Cat Hydrogen and Green Cat Renewables, in both the environmental and engineering departments. At Green Cat Renewables Europe, he works on business development projects in Europe, as well as assisting with the financial management of the company, including cash-flow analysis, invoicing, project management, and other administrative tasks.
